About Tawang
Tawang, situated in Arunachal Pradesh, is the administrative hub of Tawang district. It was once the capital of the Tawang Tract, now divided into Tawang and West Kameng districts, with Tawang serving as the former’s headquarters. Known as the top tourist destination in Arunachal Pradesh, Tawang boasts a unique administrative structure consisting of three sub-divisions: Tawang, Lumla, and Jang. These sub-divisions encompass ten administrative centers. Religion

The grand “Dungyur” and “Torgya” festivals are held at the Tawang Monastery, attracting people from all over the district to partake in the festivities. The Dungyur festival occurs once every three years, while the Torgya festival is a monastic celebration observed annually in January.
