History

On November 18, 1727, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the King of Amber who ruled from 1699 to 1743, built the city of Jaipur. He intended to move the capital from Amber, which is 11 kilometers away, to Jaipur in order to handle the expanding population and the rising water shortage. When laying up Jaipur, Jai Singh examined a number of literature on architects and architecture. Jaipur was laid up using the concepts of Shilpa and Vastu Shastra, overseen by architect Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. Geography

Jaipur occupies 467 square kilometers (180 sq mi) and is situated in the northeastern region of Rajasthan. There were 77.41% literate women and 90.61% literate men. There were 898 females for every 1,000 males in the population, and 854 children for every 1,000 adults. Nonetheless, the city’s population is anticipated to increase to approximately 39.1 lakhs.

Tourism

As one of the three stops on the Golden Triangle, Jaipur is a popular tourist destination in India.
