Junagadh district is a part of Gujarat, India. The main office where they handle all the administrative work is in the city of Junagadh.

Geography:

Junagadh district is in western Gujarat on a piece of land that juts out into the Arabian Sea. It’s bordered by Rajkot District to the north, Porbandar District to the northwest, and Amreli District to the east. To the south and west, it’s surrounded by the Arabian Sea. Porbandar used to be part of Junagadh district before it became its own district. In Junagadh, there’s a mountain range called Girnar that’s important for Hindu and Jain religious pilgrimages.

Junagadh district is divided into several regions known as talukas. These include Junagadh City, Bhesan subdistrict, Junagadh Rural, Keshod, Malia, Manavadar, Mangrol, Mendarda, Vanthali, and Visavadar.

Demographics:

In 2011, Junagadh district had a total population of 2,743,082 people, making it the 142nd most populous district in India out of 640. The district had 310 people living in every square kilometer. For every 1000 males, there were 952 females in Junagadh.

The district was divided into two parts, with a total population of 1,525,605. Out of this, 573,403 people (about 37.59%) lived in urban areas. In these areas, the ratio of females to males was 945 to 1000.

Hindus made up the majority at 88.38% of the population, while Muslims accounted for 11.17%.

Most people in Junagadh spoke Gujarati, which was the main language spoken by 97.44% of the population. The literacy rate in 2011 was 76.88%.
