Narmada Pincodes

Narmada district is a part of the state of Gujarat in India. The district’s main office is in Rajpipla. It is surrounded by Vadodara and Chhota Udaipur districts to the north, Nandurbar district in Maharashtra to the east, Surat and Tapi districts to the south, and Bharuch district to the west. The district covers an area of 2,755 square kilometers and had a population of 590,297 as of 2011. About 10.44% of people lived in cities or towns. In 2011, it was the third least populated district in Gujarat, after Dang and Porbandar.

History:

This district was created on October 2, 1997. It was formed by taking Tilakwada area from the old Vadodara district and three areas (Nandod, Dediyapada, and Sagbara) from the old Bharuch district.

Administration:

The district is divided into 5 areas: Tilakwada, Garudeshwar, Nandod (which includes Rajpipla), Dediyapada, and Sagbara. It also has two areas for the state legislature, called Vidhan Sabha constituencies: Nandod and Dediapada.

Demographics:

As of the 2011 census, Narmada district had a population of 590,297, ranking 528th among all districts in India. The district is moderately populated, with about 214 people living in every square kilometer. The ratio of females to males in Narmada is 960 females for every 1000 males, and the literacy rate stands at 73.29%. Around 10.48% of the population resides in urban areas.

In terms of language, during the 2011 Census, 68.50% of the district’s population spoke Gujarati as their first language, while 26.37% spoke Vasavi, 1.73% Hindi, and 0.93% Bhili.
