About Sirsa District

Sirsa, nestled in the western precincts of Haryana, is a city and municipal council within Sirsa district, sharing borders with Punjab and Rajasthan. This vibrant city, located approximately 250 kilometers northwest of New Delhi and 260 kilometers southwest of Chandigarh, boasts a proximity to the Thar Desert, enriching its landscape. History

During the Ain-i-Akbari era, Sirsa was documented as a pargana within Hisar’s sarkar, contributing 4,361,368 dams to the imperial treasury. This region also provided a contingent of 5000 infantry and 500 cavalry, as recorded in historical records.

As per the 2011 Indian Census, Sirsa boasted a populace of 182,534, with 96,175 males and 86,359 females. Within ages 0 to 6, there were 20,825 individuals.
