The southern boundary is shared with Assam, specifically the districts of Sonitpur and Udalguri.

West Kameng is divided into three administrative sub-divisions: Bomdila, Thrizino, and Rupa. Additionally, it has two independent Additional Deputy Commissioner’s offices at Singchung and Dirang. The circle headquarters of the district are well-connected with the district headquarters, Bomdila, via a network of roads.
