Nuapada Pincodes

The Indian state of Odisha includes the Nuapada district. The district office is located at Nuapada town. There is one subdivision called Nuapada and five blocks: Komna, Khariar, Boden, Sinapali, and Nuapada. Three Notified Area Councils (Khariar, Khariar Road, and Nuapada), six tehsils, and numerous villages, including Gandabahali, Tukla, Hatibandha, Duajher, Bargaon, Tarbod, Udyanbandh, and Larka, are located in the Nuapada District.

History

King Tustikara established a new kingdom in the Kalahandi tract in the sixth century CE, but not much is known about the other monarchs in his family.At that time, gold coins and copper plate records from the Sarabhapuriya dynasty’s rulers could be found in the Nuapada region. When Mahaivagupta Balarjuna ruled from his capital in Sripur in the eighth century CE, the Somavamsis of South Kosala occupied this area.

Geography

Located in the western region of Odisha, the Nuapada district is situated between latitudes 20° 0′ N and 21° 5′ and longitudes 82° 20′ E and 82° 40′ E. Its borders stretch to the districts of Bargarh, Balangir, and Kalahandi in the east, and to the Mahasamund district in Chhattisgarh in the north, west, and south.

The district’s administrative center is in Nuapada, and it spans an area of 3407.5 km². The rough hill ranges that border the plains of the Nuapada subdivision reach southward and are part of the Eastern Ghats’ main line. These ranges feature large plateaus that are around 1200 meters (4000 feet) above sea level.

Economy

Owing to the glaring lack of any industry, agriculture is the main driver of the economy. 45,000 acres of land are supported by three significant irrigation projects: the Upper Jonk, the Sunder dam, and the soon-to-be Lower Indira Irrigation Project. The district’s principal crop is rice. A large portion of crops grown are other crops like corn (maize), cotton, and onions. Every year, once the harvest season ends, about 10,000 households leave the state in quest of better job prospects.

Demography

There were 610,382 people living in the Nuapada district of India as per the 2011 census. comparable to the US state of Wyoming or the nation of the Solomon Islands. As a result, it is ranked 524th in India. There are 157 people living in the district per square kilometer (410/sq mi). From 2001 to 2011, the population grew at a pace of 14.28%. In Nuapada, there are 1020 girls for every 1000 males and a 58.2% literacy rate. The population resides in cities in 4.99% of cases. 13.46% of the population is made up of Scheduled Castes, and 33.80% is made up of Scheduled Tribes.
