History
Pali’s history reflects a tale of valor and alliances. Initially under the Bhil king, turmoil arose when Prince Java fell for a Brahmin girl. Unable to combat the Bhil king, the Brahmin sought aid in Delhi, only to face refusal due to alliances. Turning to Salkhoji Rathore of Kannauj, a conspiracy brewed. Salkhoji and the Brahmin orchestrated the Bhil king’s demise, leading to Pali’s control under Salkhoji. Post-Prithviraj Chauhan’s defeat, the region, including Godwar and Pali, transitioned to Maharana Kumbha’s rule in Mewar. Remarkably, Paliwal Brahmins, the city’s rulers, upheld peace and progress amid these political upheavals.
